We held our Christmas night out at The Scott Hotel in Edinburgh and it was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly, and nothing was ever too much trouble – they truly went above and beyond to make the evening special. The venue itself is gorgeous, with beautiful Christmas touches that created such a festive and welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service was faultless throughout the night. I would definitely recommend The Scott Hotel for a private dinner, a Christmas party, or indeed any occasion where you want to be treated to exceptional food and outstanding service. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

My wife and I had brunch here today and it's highly recommended. Quality produce and as others have mentioned the staff are very polite and attentive. The housekeeper took time out to show us the rooms for a potential future stay and even the basic 'cosy' room is to a high standard. Ok may be slightly out of Edinburgh centre but there's plentiful public transport and the centre's only a 15min bus ride away. Looking forward to a return visit

The hotel has a niche character and I absolutely loved to stay there during my Edinburgh holiday. My room was very clean. The hotel’s atmosphere was fantastic. Loved it was a historic place, heard some stories about it from the staff. Highly recommended. Definitely worth what you pay.

Just a wonderful experience. One of our favourite places to stay. The staff are friendly and attentive, the rooms are immaculate, the breakfast is devine, the location is perfect and the overall feel of the Scott is great. I hate telling people about it as I like to think of it as our secret.

We stayed two nights here while in Edinburgh. Love this hotel and the restaurants. They were welcoming and first thing we had was a dram of whisky as we checked in. Food was fantastic. Have to grab a taxi to get into the city center, but well worth it.

A beautiful, elegant hotel. Excellent, friendly service from everyone. Cosy rooms and bar. Lovely dining room and coffee sitting area. Breakfast was big and delicious. Service excellent again. Bus stop right outside and only 10 mins to city centre. Or a 25 min walk.

If I could give this hotel more than 5 stars I would. Not only is the building itself beautiful, including the rooms, but every aspect of the experience in staying there was a true delight. The location puts you within a reasonable 20-30 min walk of Edinburgh tourism and the eastward hiking trails. It also puts you right across the street from the Salisbury which was amazing for dinner, and around the block from Voujon Indian restaurant which was transcendent. We will absolutely be staying at the Scott the next time we find ourselves in Edinburgh.

We stayed at the Scott for a week and really enjoyed our stay! The rooms are pretty and modern, service staff is very friendly and the breakfast is very delicious (and also quite cheap for what you get). The hotel is not located in the city centre, however, getting there is no problem, there are plenty of busses or - depending on where you want to go - you just take a 30-40 minute walk. Would definitely recommend staying at The Scott :)
